Sicurstrada
Sicurstrada AssociationSicurstrada was established in 1997 by Unipol’s corporate foundation, renamed recently Unipolis Foundation, as an independent association operating in the field of road safety. Sicurstarda has been recognized as an important body in this field also by a Decree of the Ministry of Infrustructure, on March 8th, 2001. In these last years, Sicurstrada has widened its activity: it has become an important research centre on the prevention of road accidents, promotes education on road safety and has targeted its work to motorists and motorcyclists,.
A strong activity has been developed in co-operation with self-employment and employment organisations on issues related to occupational accidents occurring on the road and during the journey between home and workplace (and vice versa).
In collaboration with some important Italian road haulage groups, Sicurstrada has developed a series of initiatives, ranging from analysis of business risks, studies of the data and types of accidents and perception of risks, to actions aimed at raising managers and workers awareness about these problems with the objective of reducing the number of road accidents and their costs.
Since 2005, Sicurstrada has been recognised among the members of the “European Paper of Road Safety”, a European Commission’s initiative to make public opinion aware of issues related to road safety. Sicurstada has promoted mainly studies and projects linked to workers’ road accidents.
